of Fiber Innovations,
Inc, a privately
held company
specializing
in
the development
and manufacture
of composite
structures for
the Aerospace,
Defense and
Commercial
Industries.
Founded
in 1984, Fiber
Innovations has
built a reputation
as the leader
in the field of
braided composite
structures. Their
capabilities have
expanded beyond
braiding to encompass
synergistic processes
including net
shaped preform
assemblies using
braids and/or
woven fabrics,
resin transfer
molding (RTM)
and vacuum assisted
resin transfer
molding (VaRTM).
Existing
development and
full rate production
programs include
missile fuselage
frames, shoulder
mounted assault
weapon launch
tubes, pressure
vessels, various
tubing applications,
satellite profiles,
toroidal structures,
rotor blades,
airfoils/spars
and aircraft engine
vane/ducting components. FII
has received certificates
of registration
to AS 9100/ISO
9001.
Like
EDO, Fiber Innovations
customer base
is chiefly Aerospace
and Defense companies. Fiber
Innovations will
compliment EDO
Corporation’s
composite division
by offering additional
composite technologies
to their existing
filament winding
and prepreg autoclave
capabilities. These
additional technologies
will cover the
full spectrum
of state of the
art composite
options available
today.
